DELL Inspiron 8000 doesnt start too. same error on cardmgr.
it does start with "credativ nopcmcia" tho.

network doesnt get up. "modprobe: Can't locate module e100" on boot.

it does work with modprobe epro100.

everything works on desktop pc (ASUS A7N8X, RTL-8139, Matrox G400). looks very promising. cant wait for gnome 2.4 ...

some infos regarding DELL Inspiron 8000:

simple: while booting
cardmgr[54] : starting, version is 3.1.33
cardmgr[54] : watching two sockets
cardmgr[54] : Card services release does not match

[dead]

Not too bad, only when I tried
no pcmcia
it still does the same.
So goes the story with expert (it doesn't ask for pcmcia), failsafe (it tries pcmcia), and I tried
no scsi
and it still tries

Since you guys took a lot from knoppix: knoppix does work. Why not taking the rest from knoppix as well !?

Go ahead, I'd love gnome as live-boot !!
