Yes, now /mnt/floppy is automatically mounted (even with this hotplugged parallel port floppy).

But "mdir a:" still complains about "Syntax error in COUNTRY environment variable".

mkdir mountpoint
sudo mount /dev/fd0 mountpoint

works, but IMHO Gnoppix should be pre-configured as much as possible - that's nicer for Linux newbies as well as for seasoned users.

try with mount -t <fs> /dev/fd0 /mountpoint

"mount /mnt/floppy" complains "... is a symbolic link to nowhere" (I also tried to mount the floppy from Nautilus; same problem).

"mdir a:" says "Syntax error in COUNTRY environment variable" ("unset COUNTRY" helps).
