I use tcl/tk 8.4

The value is indeed correct. I also noticed that
increasing or decreasing the intensity by clicking
the arrows next to the V number has no effect on the
intenisity beam if the rgb values are all the same.

What I did is
create an object.
Fill it with a grey color (e.g. using the lower color buttons)
Right click on the object, select "Set Fill Color..."

Is is true that the intensity beam is
not at the right height. It is at zero, though
the values are not.
(Tested with skencil-0.6.16pre1-internal1
with tcl/tk 8.3).

Good catch. I lowered the priorities of the bug.

What tcl/Tk version did you use?

When you want to choose a colour through the colour dialog,
you see the colour box change with the object you select.
Clicking the box will give you a crosshair in a colour
square and a mark in an intensity beam. This mark is
missing if the colour is a grey value.
