SNMP client capabilities should be added to Mibble. Alternatively, support for some other SNMP client should be integrated into Mibble. One example of an open-source library that could be used is the Westhawk SNMP stack.

There are several issues to be considered when adding improved support for an SNMP client to Mibble:

  • What encodings to use (BER, DER, PER)
  • Encoding of type tags
  • Handling table row/item OID:s

etc.
