Current version of nmh appears to tolerate corrupt headers as well as could be expected (e.g. show still displays the message, skipping bad headers), so I'm unable to reproduce this problem.

I received a message with what looks like corrupt X- headers:

-Envelope-From: -unavailable-
-Envelope-To: -unavailable-

These headers cause nmh to fail to scan it properly, among other things:

2+ 05/03*

sortm also fails, with the message:

sortm: can't parse date field in message 2, continuing...

I have the full message that caused this error - I don't want to post it to protect the identity of the sender, but if you need a copy of it feel free to email me.
