Thu 12 Feb 2004 12:55:30 PM UTC, original submission:

Pingus won't compile out-of-the-box under Fedora Core 1 (gcc-3.3.2 with glibc-2.3.2). Sorry - there's no 'item group' called "build/compile problems" on this form.

Several files (see list below) need a single "#include <assert.h>" line inserted up at the top somewhere. The files are:

src/blitter.cxx
src/col_map.cxx
src/console.cxx
src/demo_recorder.cxx
src/worldmap/dot.cxx
src/editor/generic_property_frame.cxx
src/worldmap/graph.hxx
src/pingu_holder.cxx
src/gui/root_gui_manager.cxx
src/savegame_manager.cxx

Presumably one of two things has happened:
1) assert.h used to get pulled in by a different header file which doesn't do that any more in Fedora.

or

2) The "interesting" syntax of assert.h broke one of the tests in ./configure resulting in it being ignored and left off the list of "things to be included". There's maybe a related complaint of this nature already mentioned at:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-x/2002/debian-x-200212/msg00016.html

I filed a similar report with the ClanLib people, bug #7695.
