Yes, it happens in Windows with the same (Isles) map. On Linux everything works fine.

Your first problem is because you already have an old version installed somewhere (probably /usr/local) and the old strings file overrides the one in the source tree (the reverse might make updating the source tree break an existing installation).
"rm -r /usr/local/share/glob2" should fix this
Maybe you executed "cvs up" in the "src" directory instead of the top source tree directory ?

The second problem might be because there is no water near the resources. Does it really happen only in windows even with the same map ?

Please report back so we can close the bug.
Thanks

First problem:
http://turing.racasse.se/~dejan/ss/g2-bug001.png as you can see some strings are missing. This problem is both on Linux and Windows.

Second problem:
This one is IMHO more difficult to solve maybe and it's only Windows problem. - On windows wheat and wood DOESN'T GROW! :( Simply wood/what from the begining stays and players simply run out of resources sooner or later.

IMHO Windows build needs some fixes...
