Just tried to reproduce this on 2-5-30-1, the previously non-existant directory I put into downloads.ini was created by the core on startup so this bug can be considered solved.

I would suggest something different, instead of solving this
bug we should have a function which creates all directories
configured as shared_directories if they do not exist.
We have a default shared_directories of "shared", but this
directory is not created, on the contrary incoming_directory
and temp_directory are created.

When I do this all I get in logfile is this:
SHARING shared PRIO 0

-1) define a share folder that does not exists (shared for example)

-2) start mlnet

-3) look at the log file. There is a status printed for each
share. For shared, there is an hugly blob full of ^@
