I often start Straw twice by mistake, but never noticed DB corruption. However, adding a lockfile somewhere might be a good idea.

We are in the process of moving all bugs to GNOME's bugzilla (http://bugzilla.gnome.org). Could you please re-post your bug there and add a comment here when it's done, so we can close it ?

If Straw is started twice (unintentionally) the database gets messed up with read/unread items. So please prevent it from being started twice in one session.
