Seems to be done in mainline for 0.24 release.

Perhaps databases, instead of storing keys, could store info on which key(s) (in ~/.mt-keys) to use?

My feeling is that in general, people are only going to have a few keys associated with themselves, but may have many databases, created temporarily for testing purposes, etc. It would be nice, then, if one could store one's personal keys independently of any databases, in ~/.mt-keys or somesuch. I'm especially worried about the chance that someone re-creates their "primary" key for different projects, and we end up with multiple keys with the same id wandering around; this is hard to detect, and a definite cause of problems; organizing personal keys in this way would make it easy to detect and make doing the right thing natural.

Of course, the semantics of this are the tricky part. Ideally monotone would magically know when to use which keys and when to include them in the database. I think for now, though, it would be achievable and valuable if:
1) private keys were found transparently; private keys don't participate in netsync, so this shouldn't raise too many issues.
2) we have a command 'db addkeys' or somesuch, that copies public keys from the lookaside file into the database.
