Well, this is obviously not a bug in dmidecode. The problem is that the BIOS maker uses a non-standard value. I just cannot guess what it is supposed to mean.

I saw several other systems (including my own laptop) where value 12 is used for the System Boot Information field. I tried several other DMI table decoders and none knew what it was supposed to mean.

As for writing asset tags, it's beyond the scope of dmidecode, sorry.

The system boot return a code of "12" which isn't mapped in the code. (BTW: I'd also love a way of writing the asset tags in Linux).
