Example of code trigerring the bug:
Internal cause:

My guess: lisp code compiling a .clisp, .spad or .boot file does not return error code to make.

Wed 30 Jun 2004 07:50:45 PM UTC, original submission:

When an error occurs in the Lisp when building Axiom, the build process does not stop immediately.

For example:
532 making /home/magnus/usr/source/axiom/cvs-test/axiom/int/interp/astr.clisp from /home/magnus/usr/source/axiom/cvs-test/axiom/src/interp/astr.boot.pamphlet

>

Error: Caught fatal error [memory may be damaged]
Fast links are on: do (si::use-fast-links nil) for debugging
Error signalled by PROGN.
Broken at BOOTTOCL. Type :H for Help.
BOOTTRAN>>531 making /home/magnus/usr/source/axiom/cvs-test/axiom/obj/linux/interp/astr.o from /home/magnus/usr/source/axiom/cvs-test/axiom/int/interp/astr.clisp

The boot compilation system should return the error code to make and therefore make would interrupt the build process.

I consider this a low priority bug.
