Disclaimer

SELF is a collaborative project to promote universal education through Open Standards, Free Educational Material and Free Software.

General

SELF is based on an external contribution model. While the SELF consortium strives to ensure that any content included on the platform is useful, the consortium cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, suitability or legal status of the materials provided. SELF consortium members are not responsible for the actions of other SELF consortium members, SELF contributors or SELF users.

Materials

SELF makes all materials available free of charge under licenses that permit use, modification and redistribution. A complete list of acceptable licenses is available online. The default license for all materials in the SELF project is the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) version 1.2 with no Invariant Sections, no Front-Cover and Back-Cover texts.

Most materials are made available by users with no formal affiliation to the SELF consortium. These materials are accompanied with license information provided by the users. The SELF Consortium has no reason to doubt the status of information provided for the platform. However, there is a formal procedure in place to deal with any reports of incorrectly used or placed data.

If you see materials that carry incorrect Copyright or license information, please bring the issue to our attention.

All contested materials will be blocked until the legal issues have been resolved.

Technology

All technologies used in and developed for SELF are based on Open Standards and Free Software. The entire code base is hosted on savannah.nongnu.org.

The SELF platform is based on various Free Software components that use various Free Software licenses. All technology developed by the SELF consortium is published under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) version 3.0 and Copyright by Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), which is providing its fiduciary services as part of the SELF Consortium.

If you encounter license issues with or violations of the SELF code base, please contact FSFE's Freedom Task Force for investigation and resolution.
