bug #56242: Option --host-cc in configure step is not automatically activated in Ubuntu 14.04

The configure step check if GCC can be built. If it is not possible, it prints a 5 seconds warning on screen before continuing and using the host C compiler. However, when trying to build the project in Ubuntu 14.04 system, it crashes complaining about not finding some headers:


sys/cdefs.h: No such file or directory


This is exactly for what the checking if GCC can be built was designed!! In this case it should activate the option `--host-cc' and continue without crashing, but it does not work.
