I have not seen this, but please reopen after testing with 0.4.0 if it is still a problem.

I got this but today.  The original message had a blank subject.  spamass_milter added a second subject line rather than replacing the existing one.  The email client (Mozilla) picks up the blank one.

I am seeing the same problem on my mail servers.  I am running Redhat 9, Sendmail 8.12.8-9.90 RPM, spamass-milter 0.2.0+cvs, SA 2.60.

Getting this as well.

First: Solaris8, SA 2.54, Sendmail 8.12.9, spamass-milter 0.1.3a - id 1.22.

reproduce:

send a spammy email whose body contains "Subject:" on a single line.

expected behaviour:

Subject is changed from "" to "****SPAM****" (if default setting in SA local.cf)

actual behaviour:

A second Subject is inserted in the headers. Mail agents gets confused and displays only the last one (which is the original, empty one).

From header of such an email:

Message-Id: <yyyyyyyyyyyy@xxxxxxxxx>
Subject: ***SPAM*****
subject:
X-Spam-Flag: YES

from logfile:

Jun 24 23:04:14 XXXXXXXX sendmail[677]: [ID 801593 mail.info] h5OL48nT000677: Milter add: header: Subject: ***SPAM*****

This is the only problem i've seen so far - excellent piece of software!!!!

Before digging in the code, i'd like to know if it's a known issue and perhaps a patch exist?

thanks !
/Dan

If an e-mail with a blank subject is received and passed to SA, it does not get the subject_tag prepended.

SA on it's own does the correct prepending.  Is the blank subject being passed correctly to SA?
