Please try. The issue affected mbox local folders, I suppose. There was a bug, as written.

I have further cleaned up the fix, please try/retry. Works quite well for me now.

Moving and Copying messages to Local folders had a bug introduced about a year ago (in Pantomime).
I fixed it and tried to make the code more robust.

Please upgrade both Pantomime and GNUmail and try again.

I am tryin gto further improve the code in the meanwhile.

IMAP to IMAP uses server commands, so it is very different.
I attempted to copy a message from IMAP to local and it works fine.
If I attempt to copy two messages, the first one works, the second one gives a panic alert that the folder is not existing and it is copied to the panic folder intestead.
This is mysterious, I have no fix for that, it might be a reduced case of your larger issue.

I have a slighly different behaviour.
If I attempt an IMAP to IMAP move, it works fine.
If I attempt an IMAP to Local move, the CPU seems to go high and hang in a read call of CWLocalMessage, as if there were issues with the local file/cache.
I wasn't able to understand the issue further as for now.

Using latest version of GNUMail from git on Debian testing, I'm trying to move messages from a remote folder to a local folder. I open two mailboxes -- one at the remote and one at the local -- select all messages in the remote one, click 'cut', activate the local mailbox window, click 'paste'.

I expect that these messages disappear from the remote mailbox and appear in the local mailbox one day.

Instead, GNUMail downloads these messages (as seen in Console; this takes about 20 minutes) and marks them as deleted in the remote folder, but they never appear in the local folder. These messages still stay at the remote folder, as I can see from another email client.
