Pygame SGE 1.4.3 Released

Item posted by Layla Marchant <onpon4> on Mon 30 Jan 2017 02:16:32 PM UTC.

Version 1.4.3 of the Pygame SGE has been released. This is a bugfix release with the following changes since 1.4.2:

  • Added support for using pygame_sdl2 if pygame is unavailable. (Note, however, that a lot of features will not work due to the incompleteness of pygame_sdl2.)
  • Changed the way specific scaling amounts are handled to make them more efficient.
  • Fixed some incompatibilities with pygame-cffi.
  • Changed automatic fullscreen scaling to use the "current" resolution (as of the start of the game, since that's all the Pygame API gives access to), rather than attempting to use the maximum resolution. I found that attempting the maximum resolution caused a crash on X in some instances, and caused display problems on Windows.
