Configuration File Versioning - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
cfvers is a versioning system for configuration files. It is similar to cvs and subversion, but different in its orientation toward system configuration files (think /etc), dealing with all file types and attributes.

Note that with the advent of smart version control systems, this project is obsolete and won't be developed further.

New release, with many internals changed.
Differences to 0.4.6:
- a new client-server model (from 0.5.3)
- deleted files support (from 0.5.3)
- virtual file support (versioning of command output)
- database schema redesign (again...)
- switched to new python database libraries (pysqlite > 2.0 and psycopg2)
- new commands in cfv

Added possibility to store only metadata.
Added 'export' command to cfv which exports to the formats sha1sum and tar.

A new version has been released, with incompatible sql repository structure changes. See the NEWS file or the ChangeLog for more informations. Generally, bug fixing and implemented some missing basic features.
