KFrotz - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
KFrotz aims to be a portable Z-machine interpreter based on the WinFrotz 2002 sources. It will support V1-5,7-8 games, the z-machine standard 1.0, and proportional fonts. The first release will be for KDE and Qtopia/QtEmbedded.
If you want something right now to play Z-machine games under X11 or on the mac, I highly recommend Zoom. Under Windows, WinFrotz 2002 is the way to go. If you want to play on a Qt Embedded device (Zaurus or iPaq running Linux) you're stuck with running X or a terminal based interpreter.
It will have the following benefits over Kwest:
Will run under Qt without KDE.
Doesn't utilize 100% CPU
Resizing the window will smoothly wrap text, instead of breaking the interface.
Benefits over both Kwest / Zoom:
Will run everywhere Qt does
Options configurable through a menu, instead of text files
Different font for upper/lower window
More options, such as fg / bg text color
