Hi,

I think it makes no sense to track down your problems - I have a newer version of storeBackup.pl and especially of storeBackupCheckBackup.pl.

Can you please send me a private email so I can send to the new version for testing?

You will find my email address inside the storebackup package and in the html documentation.

Regards, HJC

Hi again,

it seems that storeBackupCheckBackup.pl has some problems with block devices, too.

I get an error for "storeBackupCheckBackup.pl -b <backup_dir>:
"Cannot read <backup_dir>/disk/.md5BlockCheckSums.bz2> when starting <bzip2>> is missing"

And it doesn't check the backup.

".md5BlockCheckSums.bz2" is in folder of the device (for example: <backup_dir>/disk/dev_sda2)

Hi,

I am testing storeBackup because the description looks very promising. Especially the option to save block devices as parts to make incremental backups.

So I made a simple backup:
storeBackup.pl --checkDevices0 /dev/sda2 --checkDevicesDir0 disk --sourceDir /root/empty --backupDir /mnt/backup --series sda2

The backup worked without problems.

But I couldn't recover this with storeBackupRecover.pl:
storeBackupRecover.pl --restoreTree /mnt/backup/sda2/2011.04.16_09.48.42 --targetDir /mnt/backup/recover

It creates an empty file for sda2 named "disk".

It could be recovered with "cat". But I think it should be possible to use storeBackupRecover.pl, too.

Recover with cat:
#for i in $(ls);do cat $i >> /mnt/backup/recover/sda2.raw; done

OS: Ubuntu 10.04.2 x64
