hi - i imported those archives. probably some messages got mis-sorted or mis-threaded, since that always happens, but at least the data should be there.

yes, send me the subscription lists privately.
i'm karl at freefriends dot org.

best,
karl

ok, now we have created two lists for getfem-users and getfem-commits. You can find the corresponding archives from gna, updated today, at:

http://www.student.dtu.dk/~kopo/tmp/getfem-users.tar.gz
http://www.student.dtu.dk/~kopo/tmp/getfem-commits.tar.gz

These are the important ones.

Regarding a list with currently subscribed users, should I send that to you privately?

hi - sorry for the delayed reply. i get "not found" for all four urls now. maybe they timed out? sorry.

anyway, it is no problem to seed new lists with existing archives (i hope they are in regular "From " mbox format). but yes, it would be simpler if you create the lists first via the web interface.

also, as for memberships, if you can provide a list of email addresses to be subscribed for each, i can easily do that in batch. unfortunately i think that means copy/paste from the gna mailman web pages, if no gna admin is available to run the command from the shell, but maybe it's still better than asking everyone to resubscribe.

that is, if all this is still relevant and you still plan the migration ... thanks for supporting savannah, karl.

We are migrating the GetFEM project from gna to savannah. In this process we would like to transfer the history of our mailing lists from the old to the new project.

Is it possible to merge the attached archives into corresponding new mailing lists? Do we have to create these lists first, before merging any of any older archives can take place?
