Dear Werner,

thank you for your fast reply and sorry for using your time.

For the record: Your comment made me try to save my credentials for the WebDAV share as described. Since then, it works perfectly with systemd.

Regards, wurstsemmel

check_dirs.cold() is a function of systemd. You should check there for what is going wrong. All the error message contain not a single hint what mount.davfs might have done wrong, so there is no use in trying to debug beginning with davfs2.

Dear All,

*System: Dell XPS 13
*OS: Fedora 32 Workstation with Gnome
*davfs2: davfs2-1.5.6-2.fc32.x86_64

Followed https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Davfs2 ("Section Using systemd") and after creating the Unit I issued:

+verbatin+
$sudo rm -r /mnt/MBO
$sudo systemctl enable mnt-MBO.mount
$sudo systemctl start mnt-MBO.mount
Job failed. See "journalctl -xe" for details.
$ journalctl -xe
-- Subject: Unit succeeded
-- Defined-By: systemd
-- Support: https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/systemd-devel
--
-- The unit -email is unavailable- has successfully entered the 'dead' state.

-verbatim-

Please note

  • that /mnt/MBO is created by systemd
  • that sudo mount -t davfs ... works

Expected behaviour:
systemd mount can be used to mount the WebDAV share.

Actual behaviour:
systemd mount quits with "Job failed" and "(mount.davfs) crashed in check_dirs.cold()".

Thank you and any help / comment is appreciated.
