I scratch my head why davfs does a mount if the server is not available?
http://cvs.savannah.nongnu.org/viewvc/davfs2/davfs2/src/cache.c?view=markup#l657

I would expect that davfs exits with an errorcode. Instead it exits without an error and the kernel things the filesystem ist mounted.
