HDDs are connected to a HighPoint Controller

found an old closed ticket (due incomplete info) for the same issue via google http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=490708

however the problem might be due the HDD being too new?

Model Number:       ST2000DL003-9VT166   (Seagate 2TB Green)

"gnome-disk-utility" is able to read the drives TEMP via the SMART data 190

so at this point in time, i can't say for sure which one is causing the "Segmentation fault" bug

it could be the HighPoint RocketRAID 2640x1 controllers or it could be the HDDs themselves.

Please inquire if you require additional details.
