Hello.

Three points left.

At first:
Please change the FSF address in all source files.

The address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

At second:
Please remove GIF image files from your project and replace them with an other format (such as PNG or JPEG).

Because of the patents (Unisys and IBM) covering the LZW compression algorithm which are used when making GIF files,
it's impossible to have free software to generate proper GIFs.  These patents also apply to the compress program.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.html.

And please include in every directory which includes binary files a README file and write there the copyright/license notices down.

"The png files in that directory are (C) by ...
This program is free software ..."
Have also a look at
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

And at third:
Your license and copyright notices look really good! :-)

Please fix the points mentioned above before uploading any files to Savannah. Thank you.

I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Regards.

Hi,

I added the required notices in source code files, you can see here: http://www.wikinerds.org/download/files/oklahoma-0.1-preview.tar.gz

That file contains exactly what I am going to upload here in Savannah. Have a look and tell me whether the notices I added are ok. The source code is actually exactly the same with MediaWiki's, I just added the notices for now, and I will make my software changes later.

Here I reproduce the notice I added to source code files, tell me whether it contains everything required. In the readme file I explain that my copyright is limited only to what I wrote.

Hello.

After our little talk to 'licensing' [gnu.org #250073] - is everything clear now?
Or do you have got any questions?

Project Oklahoma will actually be an enhanced distribution and derivative work of MediaWiki. you can see MediaWiki source code at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/wikipedia/phase3/

Here's how I'll use Savannah:
1. download MediaWiki source code and add appropriate GPL and permission-to-copy notices in all of its source code files, as well as changing the name from mediawiki to oklahoma.
2. Commit/upload the files to Savannah as Project Oklahoma.
3. Start hacking the code and then invite other developers to join in.

I am not aware of any non-free dependencies in mediawiki.

Thanks,
NSK

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Do you relly need the project right now to be hosted on Savannah? You don't have any source code yet, so how do you plan to use Savannah?

If you still would like to host your project now on Savannah:

Your projects meets the Savannah requirements, except that we cannot review your source code yet.

We can approve it, and review the code in the near future (or better, at your request).
We will among other check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements
at the beginning of every file of source code. Our review would help catch potential legal issues early.

If then the source code does not meet our requirements (for example, non-free dependencies),
we will then discuss the issue and possibly remove the project from Savannah.

Is this ok for you?
