alright, i get it. help.txt is once again not saying what jmb.map is thinking.
i suppose this is about "open-source <-> documentation" relationships

am i stupid, or does <R> not make my track recordable?

Hi,

There are some jmb actions changed who changed just before the 0.20.0 release. Please, look carefully into the jmb.map (under resources dir) and most of your problems will be solved!

Selecting controller:
[F] LR ->Hold F key, move mouse left/right

"E" is the key now for edge manipulations Use <N> (Node) to add nodes, [ND] UDLR to move the nodes.

"Shuttte continues after releasing tab"? There are some known issues with the jmb engine and Qt. It's being worked on, but best you can do is start protux with:
protux --d3 --log
This gives much ouput in a log file under your home dir. Please, try to reproduce the error, without doing anything else. (to keep the log file small)
You can send the log file to me, then I can try to see what happend.

About your other suggestions, I'll put them on wishlist :-)
Most of them are allready known, but time flies, and not much developers.....
Thanks :-)

Greetings,

Remon

planet-CCRMA on RH9
kernel 2.4.22-6.ll.rh90 (CCRMA low-latency kernel)
alsa 0.9.6-2.cvs (CVS: 20030825.181154)
qt 1:3.1.1-6

protux 0.20.0

in F2 mode:

[F] allows switching from the second filter controller to the first, but not the other way around.

<E> does not add nodes.

in F1 mode:

shuttle continues after releasing TAB

three suggestions:

1> the shading which appears on top of the waveforms in F2 mode is somewhat dark -- it is a bit difficult to see the waveform in order to synchronize filter curves with audio events.

2> better scrolling with arrow keys would be useful: perhaps  Ctrl or Alt with arrows could give different magnitudes of scrolling. as it is now, i find navigation ackward. vertical scrolling should be limited to full-track increments - one track per arrow up/down (or more than one with Ctrl or Alt, perhaps). there is no need for scrolling less than the height of a track.

3> we need a single track vertical zoom. i.e. vertical expansion of the waveform without changing the height of the track area. (and also the ability to move the wave display up/down within a track, so vertically-zoomed waveforms can be centered)

anyway, GREAT WORK! i am waiting anxiously for protux to become mature. your JMB concept is both revolutionary and beautiful -- when this is complete protux will be the KILLER audio app which linux needs desparately.

best-
