Things get even worse when it comes to demo-files. The pingus get really messed up if they do not start the same way when the demo is replayed as they did when the demo was recorded.

Well, yes.
In logic games like pingus I don't like "random" elements - especially not when the user can influence the randomness in an unintended way.
I have attached a simple level to illustrate my point.
You CAN solve it. But the way to solve it is:
- Start the game.
- When first pingu appears, press escape.
- Start the game again.
- Build bridge.
I don't like this way of creating puzzles.

Why do you consider this a bug? Do you intend to base a level tactic on the direction in which the first, last or nth Pingu appears? Seems a little bit strange to me.

In a level where the entrance-pingus alternate between left and right, the current direction is not reset between runs. If the last pinguin leaving the entrance faced left, then on the next run, the first pinguin will face right, and vice verca.
