This is not related to nss-mysql, you should configure your system to support password of more than 8 characters.

Is there some bug with nss-mysql and long passwords?
Lets assume that there is a user account with password that is 10 characters long (for example: abcdefhgij). I've discovered that I can log in even when I dont type the password correctly if only the first eight characters are correct (so I can type: abcdefghasdasdasdasdasdasd.. and whatever I want and log in).
