Current development of Tiger
Item posted by Javier Fernandez-Sanguino Peña <jfs> on Thu 26 Dec 2002 01:43:05 PM UTC.
Tiger is currently going on forward in a few areas:
1.- new checks are being added for new software that is currently not supported. For example, a new 'check_apache' module to check Apache's configuration [1] has recently been added to the source code base
2.- testing in new platforms and platform-specific scripts. Some users have tested Tiger in unsupported platforms (Tru64 or HP-UX) and ongoing work is being developed to included new checks for Solaris and Linux, such as the the 'check_network_config' recently included for Linux [2]
3.- better integration with other software (including
john/crack, integrit/samhain/aide/tripwire, logcheck/loganalysis). This development might lead to the inclusion of those tools within Tiger (for user account tests, filesystem checks or logchecks respectively) in order to provide a full-blown tool (instead of depending on separate sources).
Resources are scarse (only one person is updating the CVS sources). Interested developers should contact the tiger-developer's mailing list (mailto:tiger-devel@mail.freesoftware.fsf.org)
