Resume
I am very proficient at programming in C and C++ under Microsoft Windows. Everything I know about computer programming is entirely self taught. I started programming in C back in 1995 while I was in college, but I did not start programming on a regular basis until I got my current job in January of 1999.
I am currently working as a software engineer for Freedom Scientific (formerly Henter-Joyce), the makers of several assistive technology products including JAWS (a screen reader for Microsoft Windows), OpenBook (a scanning / reading system for Microsoft Windows), Magic (a screen magnifier for Microsoft Windows), and the PAC Mate (an accessible Pocket PC device). I have played a major role in the development of all four of these products.
Some of my specialties are debugging and trouble shooting, internationalization, and code re-factoring.
Although my programming experience has up to now been limited to the Microsoft Windows environment, I am currently working on expanding my horizons to GNU/Linux and, once I can get a Macintosh, MacOS X.
I am also learning other programming languages besides C and C++. I have been teaching myself Java and Python for about a year now.
