This group is not part of the GNU Project.
The purpose of this project is to create an extensible Python-based web toolkit. As a secondary goal, this project should be usable as a standalone web server.
This project is not a clone of Apache. While it should be possible to write very simple modules to handle other languages such as PHP, that is not the main goal of the project. The main goal is essentially to create a "GUI toolkit"-like library for the web browser which also handles other webserver-ish things such as file transfer.
The web server should only consist of files written for this project and the Python standard library. Dependencies on other projects should be avoided unless such a dependency would greatly benefit the project.

Details (job description, contact ...):
I need someone to start implementing the most basic parts of the web server. Join this project group if you are interested in helping out. I will give more information to people who join. It would be helpful if people joining this team would have some experience with or knowledge of HTTP, but that information can be obtained from the web, and is therefore not essential.
