awale - Summary
This project is not part of the GNU Project.
Awale is a free software distributed under GNU General Public Licence. You can freely use the software, download the source, modify and re-distribute the game provided the GNU/GPL licence is maintained.
Awale is an african game whose rules are quite simple. The board contains two lines of six holes. The holes contain the stones which are distributed counter-clock wise in subsequent holes. Full rules are available in the website and in the software awale.
Awale well works on Windows, GNU/Linux and other Unix systems and Mac OSX.
The software consists in two parts. awale is a C-program to play awale in command-line mode. And xawale is a graphical interface written in tcl/tk script language. The engine of awale is based on an improved min-max algorithm which is particularly efficient for this game.
