Free Flash Card - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
Free Flash Card (FFC) is a little program based on php/html and postgresql. It was created to make memorizing large amounts of material relatively easy, something I have to do as a medical student. With a minimal amount of adaptation it should be suitable for learning foreign languages/vocabulary.
With powerful postgresql as a back-end, this program is designed for large volumes of information. It has a built-in search function and allows one to subdivide the cards into sets. A given card can be in multiple sets. How often a user attempts a question is tracked along with how many times they have answered it correctly. Since the interface is based on php/html, images can be included in the questions and/or answers.
Future improvements will include support for sound recordings, a user guide/manual, creation of a multiuser environment and further improvements in the tracking of user progress in the mastery of the entered material.
