The IDEDOS Project - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
IDEDOS is a disk operating system written in 6502/65816 assembly for the Commodore 64/128 and SuperCPU, controlling the IDE64 cartridge. It's main purphose is to control ATA(PI) devices (like hard disks, CF cards, CDROMs, Zip drives, LS-120, etc.) and present them like normal Commodore drives. It's also a system extension providing additional basic commands, monitor, and file manager.
To run the compiled IDEDOS image you need to own a Commodore 64/128 computer with the IDE64 interface cartridge 2.1 or higher, optionally equiped with SuperCPU. Some kind of diskdrive is required for flashing or a serial connection using duart card.
If you do not own this equipment the VICE emulator from version 1.13 can emulate it for you on many platforms. http://www.viceteam.org/
