James Blair told me privately (?) that each project having a spamassassin configuration "would not be possible".

James: is the spamassassin configuration file publicly available?

Would it be possible for each project to maintain its own spamassassin configuration?  Is the spamassassin configuration publically available?

We use spamassassin on the mailing lists.  Mailman also has a simple regex based spam filter users may employ.  We don't have the resources to try to filter spam messages like that individually.

Recently my mailing lists have started letting some spam pass through:

http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00004.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00002.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00005.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00002.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00003.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00004.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00000.html
http://lists.gnu. ... -11/msg00001.html

1) Could you adjust your spam removal software so that it traps that kind of spam?
2) How could I remove these messages from the archives?
