Hi,

We did not get a response from you, so we deleted your project from the pending queue.

If you would still like to have your project hosted at Savannah, please register it again.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier registration will direct
you to the proper location where you can re-register your project.

Regards.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project.
You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah?
If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards,

Sebastian Wieseler <kickino>

Hello and sorry for the little delay. :/

If your program can run (primary) on free software platforms, it's okay for us (perl runs on GNU/Linux :))

But your copyright lacks at least the year and the license information is incomplete.

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

For the copyright look also at http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

And at last, can you please make a list (with the URIs and licenses, if available) of the perl modules, which are required for your perl script?

Regards,

Hi,
I am still willing to host the project on savannah, just didn't have time to work on the registration again. The program runs on any platform that runs perl with the standard modules, there is no OS dependency. Free-OS users will be able to use it equally to non-free OS users. I attach some code for you to have a look at.
 Cheers,
Nick Vallianos

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

We need a detailed technical description that specifies such requirements as programming languages and external libraries.
It should be at least one-half a page.

Then we only host projects that can run on a free operating system (such as GNU/Linux).

We have adopted this policy because now that completely free operating systems exist,
we do not want to encourage users of those systems to start using proprietary operating
systems so that they can use your program.

If you are willing to maintain a version for free operating systems, which work as well as or better than other ports, you can then provide versions for non-free systems as well.
The idea is that at no point should only-free users be at a disadvantage compared to users
of proprietary software.

Your project should always work equally well in free systems as in any other version you provide;
if you have some modules for non-free systems, you can delay their release until you have released
the free operating system version.

Can you please clarify this point?

At last please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code.
The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public.
If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and
permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

A new project has been registered at Savannah
The project account will remain inactive until a site admin approve or discard the registration.

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

  <https://savannah.nongnu.org/admin/groupedit.php?group_id=7978>

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  Job Finder

System Group Name:
-----------------
  jobfinder

Type:
-----
  non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
This GUI program asks the user for some details, like the area for which vacancies should be searched, occupations etc. For now, it only works with EURES, the European Portal for Job Mobility, but the goal is to use multiple reliable sources for other areas as well. Instead of connecting to any database, it just spiders and filters the results of a main GET request, which has been formed by the user input.
I already have one partly working part (the 'spider') and one that I'm working on (the GUI) but don't have them on any URL.
Ultimately, the users will have it running in the background with some configuration and, once in a while, have a balloon popping up, saying: "Tired of your boss? There's a good job for you in your area blah blah..."
Then programmers will start leaving jobs and managers will start thinking of treating them nicely!

Other Software Required:
------------------------
needs ActivePerl or just any perl on Win32 platforms, but that's also free, as far as I know. That's not a concern, is it?

Other Comments:
---------------
can we make it part of find (find -job)? just joking :)
