Silent since 2009, GUG LA needs members! There are many local meetings and conferences, among which SCALE (Southern CAlifornia Linux Expo) is a key event for GUG LA volunteers to host a FSF table and engage the FLOSS community about free/libre software. Many other opportunities exist. Please sign up and introduce yourself on the mailing list:

Thanks, and happy hacking!

I am in currently in the "definition" phase of the GUG LA. "Guidelines for Creating GNU Spaces" is coming along nicely, and I am awaiting feedback from Jose E. Marchesi of GNU Spain fame regarding his experiences. We are also recruiting GUG LA members, so ideally by December 2009 the GUG LA will begin functioning as a "live" group. Please stay tuned, and cheers!
