Your favorite audio player is out... and satyr too! This is the first time satyr has proven to run from KDE's session (that is, it starts when you log in). Here's the changelog:
* Remebers collections and selected skin. This means we can also recover with a X session.
* python-qt4-phonon is a dep. This way we can run on unpatched systems.
* The complex skin doesn't show the time slide bar until it can be shown on an unpatched system.
* Fixed search.

The Changelog is not very impressive:
* We can save the list of queued Songs on exit and load it at startup.
* The queue position is not presented when editing the title of a Song that is queued.
* Setting the track number works now (was a bug).
* Fixed a bug in setup.py.
but the last one is somewhat important. Go fort it.

User 'dglent' from http://kde-apps.org/ found a packaging bug in the previous release. Today I fixed the bug and made a new release. But is not only a bugfixing revision, it also includes new features:
* nowPlaying(), exported via dbus.

... for 9 days already. In the rush of finishing my daily job and coming back to my country for holidays I forgot to mention it. Here's the Changelog, courtesy of debchange:
* (De)Queueing Songs with the keyboard, with visual feedback.

Yes, I just skipped the 0.1 release and jumped into the web 0.2 wagon... or was it the 2.0? The short change log:
- The complex skin looks nicer, with column headers and more proper widths. It also highlights the song currently being played.
- Tag edition! Only in the complex skin.
Go grab it from the download section.

Yes, it's unbelievable, but we managed to make a release. Yes, it's a beta1, but a release nevertheless. Features so far?
* Multi-Collection support. Not that we do much about it.
* read tags
* Discover new music as it's added in the filesystem.
* On-the-fly search.
* Play files with any filename (this is not as simple as it seems).
* Skins (only two).
Go get it from the Download section.

This weekend I was rather bored, so I set off to implement skins in satyr, and they work! who knows, maybe for next weekend we'll have a proper setup.py and will be able to make a release! stay tuned!

After fixing the last bugs we could, we consider that this branch is ready for massive comsumption. There are already a couple of bugs listed, two of them that depend on a technical decision, but for the rest is running ok. We plan for a release next Saturday, yay!

Since a week ago there's a new branch where I'm introducing code that reads audio file metadata (a.k.a. tags), which will also let us modify and write it. The branch can be pulled as follows:
bzr branch sftp://bzr.savannah.nongnu.org/srv/bzr/satyr/playlist-model/
Currently it lacks of the ability to save the Collection, which means that it's scanned at startup, but otherwise works really fine. I hope to finish with it soon, so I can merge it in trunk and go for the next step.
