Following the steps noted, I tested and confirmed the reported behavior is no longer observed with lmi-20130719T1951Z and wx-2.9.3, used in production. The defective behavior was reproduced using an older version, lmi-20071019T1532Z and wx-2.8.0.

Wendy > I retested this with the wx20060605 upgrade

I'm using the same 2006-06-05 wx cvs snapshot, and I still
see the problem if I do exactly the following:

(1) Open one file from the history menu (e.g., alt | F | 1).
Open it in exactly that way and in no other way.

(2) Close the file opened in (1).

(3) Now pull down the file menu. The first eight history
items are indented as at program startup, but the ninth
is indented farther, as in the attached screenshot.

Wendy, can you reproduce this easily?

I retested this with the wx20060605 upgrade that's now used in production and the problem still no longer exists.

Re-opened until production releases
are syncronized with wx upgrades.

Tested with wx-cvs-All-2005-07-07.tar.bz2 and
confirm the problem is fixed.

Yes, this is a known wx problem and will be fixed in 2.6.2 (already fixed on cvs HEAD).

The attached .png shows that the last item follows the alignment
of the first few items (which have associated icons), but other
file-history menuitems are aligned differently. Before spending
time documenting exact steps to reproduce this, I'll ask whether
it's a known wx problem--they might have fixed it already.
