I just tried running on OSX 10.5.5 on an early 2008 MacBook Pro (2.6 Ghz C2D, 4 GB RAM, Nvidia 8600M GT GFX). I have the same choppy audio problem. The Mac Books/Mac Book Pros use cheap and cheerful RealTek audio chipsets (ALC885?) so this is likey a driver issue?

Yep, I was just going to post this same thing. I am running OSX 10.5.5 on the new, Late 2008 MacBook (2.0Ghz C2D, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 9400m GFX). It sounds just like that clip you uploaded. Any fixes yet?

The music played is very choppy (except at the very beginning and end of the tune) under Mac OS X 10.5.5 (MacBook, 4GB, 2GHz Intel C2D)

Attached is a recording of the music as played on the machine.
