i'd prefer to disable it completely, since i often "violate" the maximum valence transiently in the drawing process, e.g. by adding a double bond before removing the neighbouring one.
Perhaps the valence checking could be done in a batch mode at the end of the drawing session. It would also help, if the warning would show up in the statusbar instead as a popup.

Good point, I will try to do something about it.
What about warning only once and then ignoring additional warnings?

valency checking may be helpful in the end when the figure is complete, but it's pretty tiresome while actually drawing. If i want to draw a six coordinate iron complex i get 4 warnings that i exceeded the maximum valency. It would nice, if one could the valency checking off.
