Corresponding source code
When the font setting is adjusted to "mathlarge=schola", the absolute value function exhibits overly wide spacing both inside and outside of the vertical bars.
I have included a minimal document and a screenshot for a visual comparison. Additionally, I am using macOS 14.4.
