Please test with newer isos. The isos known to be working on                    G5 are xxx-pre7 and following.

the cd k-mib-ppc-beta-pre5.iso doesn't boot on a BiG5 2Ghz due
to some hard disk problem :
sda:<3>ata1: DMA timeout, stat 0x1
ATA: abnormal status 0xD0 on port 0xF11BF01C
