Haver 0.04 "Vinegar" Released!
posted by dylanwh, Sun 22 Feb 2004 05:08:26 AM UTC

Uploaded 0.04 to CPAN. This release works.
Most of the internals of the server have been rewritten.
The next release, 0.05 ("Soap") will feature user and channel
registration. The support code is there, I just have to find a
save way to use it. I want "Soap" to start having administration
possibilities.

Bdonlan's Haver::Client is also now fairly usable,
haver-tk-2.pl uses it.

HaverNet v0.1.0 beta released
posted by elasticmuffin, Thu 19 Feb 2004 01:30:43 AM UTC

The first version of my Windows client, HaverNet, is out.  It supports everything except user-commands and private messages.  Basic chat functions (joining channels, chatting, sending actions, etc) are working great.  You can download it at sourceforge, here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=92672&package_id=98099

(dylanwh: Note, HaverNet is a seperate project from Haver, because Savannah doesn't host windows programs. However I do aprove of it.)

CPAN'ed

The 0.03 versions of Haver-Server, Haver-Client, and Haver (common)
on CPAN (soon) are quite stable and usable, if lacking in features.
Feature-addition continues on.

Organized

The server is now split into three different parts:
haver/server, haver/client, and haver/common.
Read on to see what else I've done.

I think one can just download haver/server and haver/common,
and it'll work. I've also submitted haver to CPAN. Which [...]

Server works, again.

The server works again. Protocol is stabilizing,
see http://wiki.chani3.com/wiki/ProjectHaver/Protocol for details.

The new server's design is slightly less hacky,
and now I'm working on getting PING/PONGs to work,
adding ACLs and user properties.

Server works! Client works!

Both the server and client currently work.

by 'work', I mean you can login to the server,
talk, and privately /msg people, and get a user list.

It's very hacky. I want it to not be, but I also want it to
be simple... I'm thinking POE is making it ugly...

Okay, I should be able to do some coding tomorrow... I hope.
Darn composition course.

Okay

Okay, I think I've got this all figured out. Now to get back to hacking.

Well, this is interesting. :)

I have to figure out this subproject and tasks thing,
that could be very useful.
I also should put the source in CVS...
