This patch is for the systems/HPUX/check_path module that I have re-written and expanded.  My eventual goal is to replace the scripts/check_path module with this check once it is complete and reviewed.

This patch adds the following functionality:

  • Change shell from bash -> ksh.
  • Resolve the real path when checking directory and file permissions.
  • Ignore broken symlinks.
  • Add support for RedHat 9's pathmunge function.
  • Add support for ~user/path entries.


I am currently using this module for Linux, HP-UX, and Tru64  (though it is not checked in for these trees yet).
