FIM: Fbi IMproved - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
FIM (Fbi IMproved) is a highly customizable and scriptable image viewer targeted at the users who are comfortable with software like the Vim text editor or the Mutt mail user agent.
FIM aims to be a "Swiss Army knife" for viewing images.
It derives from the Fbi image viewer (by Gerd Hoffmann), and has originally been written for the Linux frame buffer console.
FIM is multidevice: it has X support (via the SDL and the Imlib2 libraries) and it supports ASCII art output: monochrome via the aalib library, and coloured via libcaca.
FIM is free software, and it ships under the GPL software license, complete with documentation, in form of man pages, lots of comments in the code, and a few text files.
