Om - persistent object system - Summary
This project is not part of the GNU Project.
Om is essentially a persistent object system with facilities for extension, and a set of tools to write methods for object stored in such a system. It does away with the traditional concept of "application"; an Om "application" is a vague term with no exact technical meaning. Instead, you write loosely coupled methods and group them in classes.
Methods can be written in many ways (interpreted scripts, shared libraries, executables) and languages.
The system is designed for flexibility and extensibility. There are hooks for "file format" adapters, for storages (so you can fetch objects from the network), and others.
