PUPA stands for Preliminary Universal Programming Architecture for
GNU GRUB.
PUPA is a research project for the next generation of GNU GRUB.
Our goal is to redesign/rewrite the major part of GNU GRUB so that
the code base would be more robust, cleaner, and safer. Also, it is
intended to add several new features, such as internationalization,
cross-platform installation, a scripting language, and
multi-architecture support. The result will be integrated into GNU
GRUB later.
This project was supported by Information-technology Promotion Agency,
Japan from 2002-07-15 to 2003-02-28.
