Swinput - Summary
This project is not part of the GNU Project.
Swinput can fake a mouse and a keyboard by using the Linux Input System. The swinput modules read from a device and fakes hardware event (mouse motion, key presses etc) as commands written on the devices. Swinput presents status etc on the proc filesystem.
Swinput is useful when testing applications.
It was developed to use when testing Xnee (http://www.gnu.org/software/xnee).

After years of low activity, work on swinput is now progressing rapidly.
Will release a bug fixed version in a week or two.

Xnee (http://www.gnu.org/software/xnee/) is automagically tested using swinput. Test scripts for Xnee can be found in the Xnee source code (xnee/xnee/test/scripts/).
