Hello everyone, I'm sorry for a so late answer.

The default path for text files is the current working directory (CWD)and there is no need for an extension.
Reading the file, aldo is case insensitive, so if you prefer, you could use uppercase letters.

I have a similar question about aldo

my aldo-0.7.6-3.fc14(x86_64) running in Fedora 14 linux, likewise, will not read from a text file -- I have tried path and name combinations -- each attempt results in a core dump -- what can I do to get this function working?

otherwise I am very pleased with aldo -- I have been using it for code practice in Koch mode for about 20 weeks -- am finally getting some useable CW speed -- it would be very useful now if the read file option were usable for practicing from word lists

What is the default pathway for Read File?
Does it require a *.text or ?.txt extension?
Is it OK in upper case or lower case?

Every time I try something, it defaults back to the home menu.

Thanks!
